Coloured water and oil repellent for concrete floors
ProtectGuard® Color Mineral Paint: one product, two functions:
1. Coloured renovator for concrete floors
ProtectGuard® Color Mineral Paint is a coloured product for renovating concrete paving blocks and floors. On a concrete slab or screed, apply ProtectGuard® Color Mineral Paint Primer first. Unlike a paint, ProtectGuard® Color Mineral Paint is an impregnating product that respects the mineral nature of the material and remains permeable to air and water vapour (so no blistering or peeling).
2. Water- and oil-resistant
ProtectGuard® Color Mineral Paint gives long-lasting protection against the main forms of deterioration, such as staining, greasy marks, water infiltration etc. Penetration by water, oil and grime is thus greatly reduced and treated surfaces stay clean.
ProtectGuard® Color Mineral Paint is used on exterior concrete surfaces (paths, patios, yards etc.) that take domestic foot traffic. It is ideal for recolouring and protecting interlocking paving blocks and more than 28-day concrete slabs and screeds.
  • Protects against water, acid rain and grease.
  • Anti-stain, anti-dirt.
  • Improves resistance to soiling.
  • Stands up to moderate foot traffic.
  • Excellent adhesion.
  • Allows substrate to breathe.
  • UV-resistant.
Application on interlocking paving blocks:
  • Apply with a long-haired roller (15-18 mm polyamide fibres) designed for uneven surfaces.
Application on concrete slabs or screeds:
  • Apply with a middle-haired roller (8-15 mm polyamide fibres).
All tools and equipment should be cleaned with water immediately after use.
  • Apply the product to a surface that is clean, dust-free, grease-free and dry. To remove grease marks and marks of pollution use Guard Cleaner® Eco Soiled Floors or Guard Wash®, and for efflorescence, laitance or concrete bloom use Guard Remover® Eco Efflorescence & Cement.
  • Rinse with copious amounts of water from a high-pressure cleaner and allow to dry before applying ProtectGuard®Color Mineral Paint.
  • The substrate, substrate preparation and product application must comply with the latest French unified codes of building practice 59.1 (Paintwork) and 59.3 (Paintwork for floors).
  • Using a spatula, mix the pigment bottle until thoroughly mixed.
  • Shake the container well before use. Use an electric stirrer if necessary to thoroughly disperse the pigments through the product.
  • Always test first for appearance and adhesion.
  • Allow ProtectGuard® Color Mineral Paint to dry for at least 24 hrs before permitting foot traffic and 72 hrs for light vehicular traffic.
  • Optimal performance is achieved after 7 days.
Application on interlocking paving blocks:
  • Apply a single coat of ProtectGuard® Color Mineral Paint.
  • A second coat may be applied if judged aesthetically necessary (allow 2 to 24 hours between coats).
Application on concrete slabs or screeds:
  • Apply ProtectGuard® Color Mineral Paint Primer first with a brush or roller to facilitate adhesion (coverage: 15 to 20 m2/litre). Wait at least 3 hrs and not more than 24 hrs before applying ProtectGuard® Color Mineral Paint. For more information, consult the data sheet for the primer.
