Water repellent – oil repellent – anti-stain product protecting porous materials With a flat ‘Wet-looK’ finish
ProtectGuard® Wet Look is designed to protect mineral porous building materials against water, oil and staining. It protects against the main causes of deterioration such as atmospheric pollution and grease-based stains. A surface treated with ProtectGuard® Wet Look will be easier to care for and will be protected over time.
ProtectGuard® Wet Look gives treated substrates a flat ‘wet look’ finish that enhances the original colour.
ProtectGuard® Wet Look allows the substrate to remain permeable to air and water vapour. It is UV-resistant and does not yellow.
ProtectGuard® Wet Look can be applied to vertical, horizontal, to all porous or very porous materials such as natural stone, terracotta, brick, concrete, limestone… ProtectGuard® Wet Look is used for new and renovated constructions.

Apply using a roller or a brush.

Clean tools and equipment immediately after use with water.
Apply the product to a surface that is clean, dust-free, grease-free and dry. To remove greasy stains use Guard Cleaner® Eco Soiled Floors. For efflorescence, laitance or concrete bloom use Guard Remover® Eco Efflorescence & Cement.
  • Use neat, do not dilute.
  • Shake the product well before use.
  • Always carry out a preliminary test.
  • ProtectGuard® Wet Look is applied in 2 layers.
  • Apply the 1st layer to the surface.
  • Let the product penetrate and dry (from 15 to 30 minutes according to the material’s porosity and temperature) then apply the 2nd layer.
  • Do not over apply, eliminate any exceeding product before drying.
  • Drying time: 24 hours.
  • Optimum effectiveness obtained after 5 to 7 days.
  • Physical state at 20°C: Liquid.
  • Appearence: Milky.
  • Odour: None.
  • pH: 8.5 ± 0.5.
  • Boiling point [°C]: 100°C.
  • Density: 1.01 ± 0.01.
  • Solubility in water [vol/vol]: Total.
  • Flash point [°C]: Not applicable.
Coverage depends on the porosity of the material. The figures below should be used only as a general guideline: 6 to 10m² / litre for 2 layers.
2 and 5 litres.
  • Keep in a dry place (between 5°C and 30°C).
  • Storage: 12 months following the production date when kept in the original unopened container.
  • Stubborn dirt should be cleaned off with clean water or with Guard Cleaner® Eco Soiled Floors diluted with 50% water.
  • Following traffic-induced wear, the protection and ‘wetlook’ can be regenerated by re-applying ProtectGuard® Wet Look diluted with 50% of water.

  • Remove all atmospheric pollution-related dirt from all surfaces to be treated before starting the treatment.
  • Always check the material’s porosity and carry out a test first to ensure the finished result is acceptable.
  • For best results it is essential that ProtectGuard® Wet Look is used when the temperature of the substrates is between 10°C and 30°C.
  • Do not apply during rain or in very hot weather. Air temperature between 5°C and 30°C.
  • For very porous materials apply a first impregnation layer (ProtectGuard® Wet Look diluted with 20 to 30% of water).
  • Do not mix with any other product.
  • In certain cases, the product can slightly modify the slipperiness of the surface, always carry out a preliminary test.
  • The intensity of «wet look» varies according to the nature of the material.
  • Do not apply to terracotta that has already been treated with wax, linseed oil...
  • Respiratory protection: Under normal conditions of use where adequate ventilation is available, no special respiratory protection equipment is needed.
  • Hand protection: Wear latex gloves.
  • Skin protection: No special protective clothing or skin protection is required under normal conditions of use.
  • Eye protection: If there is a real risk of splashing, wear protective goggles.
  • If swallowed: Do not induce vomiting. Contact a doctor or a specialist.
